Artwork Guidelines: The Print Perfect Guide

At Shine and Print, we want your prints to look exactly as amazing as you imagined. To avoid blurred images, cutting issues, or color mistakes, please follow these simple rules before uploading your design.

1. Color Mode (RGB vs CMYK)

• The Rule : Please try to design your files in CMYK color mode, not RGB.

• Why? Computer screens use RGB (Light), but printers use CMYK (Ink). If you upload an RGB file, the final print colors may look slightly duller or different than what you see on your screen.

2. Small Text & Reverse Colors (Important)

• The Problem : Thin white text on a dark background (like black or dark blue) can easily get filled with ink during printing if it is too small.

• The Rule for Dark Backgrounds: Use a minimum font size of 10 Points and use Bold fonts. Do not use thin/light fonts for reverse text.

• The Rule for Normal Text: For dark text on white paper, keep font size at least 7-8 Points for readability.

3. Margins & Safety Area (Don't touch the edge!)

• The Rule : Keep all important text, logos, and phone numbers at least 3mm to 5mm inside from the edge of the design.

• Why? During the cutting process, if your text is exactly on the edge, it might get cut off. Always leave some breathing space around your content.

4. Image Resolution (Quality)

• The Rule: Use high-quality images with at least 300 DPI.

• How to Check: If your image looks blurry when you zoom in on your screen, it will look blurry in print too. Please do not use WhatsApp forwarded images as they are low quality.

5. Accepted File Formats

• Best : PDF (High Quality Print)

• Good : AI, CDR, PSD, High-Res JPG/PNG
